This is a Call

about

I wrote This is a Call to encourage people (and myself) to use their voices and speak up about things that matter. I believe an important way we can do that is by informed voting. Approximately only 60% of eligible voters vote in presidential elections and only 40% in midterm elections when we elect our lawmakers. I created a non-partisan website to help anyone who might be intimidated or confused about the voting process.

If you ever feel you aren't informed enough to vote, please visit thisisacall.org. You can register to vote, confirm your registration and/or find information on how and where to vote. You can also use links to find out who and what is on your ballot and compare candidates without partisan interpretations.

lyrics

This is a Call

This is a call to you on your island
Head in the sand, it’s hard to stand tall
“Don’t want to make waves”, you say with your silence
There’s comfort and calm in no words at all

Where did you go? Courage in tow.
Hanging your head and your heart follows.
Where are you now? Don’t let me down.
I need to hear you so speak up now.

How much do we pay for taking your chances?
Where do you hide when it comes to your door?
Can’t stand on a line with so many lives in the balance.
Now is the time. What are you waiting for?

Where did you go? Courage in tow.
Hanging your head and your heart follows.
Where are you now? Don’t let me down.
I need to hear you so speak up now.

You need to say it loud
You need to let it out
Let it shake the walls and bring them down

Where did you go? Courage in tow.
Hanging your head and your heart follows.
Where are you now? Don’t let me down.
I need to hear you so speak up now.
I need to hear you now.

Now the reason we're here
Every man, every woman

When love walks in the room
Everybody stand up
Oh it's good, good good
Say I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you - The Pretenders

At some point in my life, I heard this song and decided (before I knew I decided) that my life purpose was to send a "message of love". Be <3
